Just 2 hours 45 minutes from Lyon and 2 hours 30 minutes from Geneva. Val d'Isère is one of the first French resorts famed for its quality of life. Here, time goes by a little slower than elsewhere. Contrary to the trend in certain larger resorts, the village has been built in a traditional style using its natural resources, evident in the beautiful facades made from natural mountain stone. There are 140 slopes and ten times as much un-marked off-piste terrain, spread over an area ranging in altitude from 1550 to 3300m. One lift pass covers all 100 ski lifts and there are two glaciers that can be skied during the summer. There is no doubt about the quality of the skiing in Val d'Isère and its slopes are maintained to the highest standard. Every night you can see the twinkling lights from the fleet of snow-cats moving back and forth over the resorts 300km of runs, grooming them to perfection.
